As CKCU 93.1 FM enters its 50th year of broadcasting, we are reaching out to our incredible community for help. This milestone is a celebration of the station’s legacy, but it also marks a critical time in ensuring its continued growth and success

We are seeking new board members, particularly someone with financial expertise to step into the role of Treasurer.

As a volunteer-driven community radio station, CKCU relies on passionate, dedicated individuals like YOU to keep the wheels turning. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact on the future of an organization that has been the voice of our community for decades. Whether you have experience in finance, governance, or just a passion for keeping community radio alive, we need strong, committed, and diverse people to join our Board.

Fundraiser for CKCU – Friday Nite Truck Stop & Canadian Spaces present: Songs That Made Us Songwriters

Join Ottawa singer-songwriter & CKCU Friday Nite Truck Stop/Canadian Spaces host RAY HARRIS, with very special guests – Canadian music legends KEITH GLASS and NEVILLE WELLS! And on guitar the equally legendary FRANK KOLLER! Backed by Standup Steve Donnelly on upright bass, and Matt Aston on drums! Whoa! Setting up “guitar pull style”, we’ll be playing a selection of songs that influenced our musical lives + some choice originals!

Irene’s Pub, 885 Bank Street – Sunday, November 17th at 3pm

CKCU Special Funding Drive Broadcast On Location: Swing Is In The Air

Come down to The Record Centre at 1099 Wellington Street West on Sunday, November 10th from 4pm until 6pm for a live broadcast of Swing Is In The Air.

Join host Paul Campbell, along with CKCU volunteers, staff, fans and friends, while we celebrate the finale of Funding Drive 2024!

Arrêtez-vous à l’Atrium O’Brien du CNA jeudi après-midi pour assister à cette radio diffusion et nous voir en action! Venez saluer les animateurs et producteurs de votre radio communautaire, CKCU FM. 

La diffusion comprendra deux émissions :   

À 16 h, l’émission Communautés croisées, animée par Patrick Auguste, se penche sur les enjeux sociaux et culturels de la communauté francophone d’Ottawa-Gatineau. Patrick discutera du théâtre français au CNA et parlera avec des étudiants de la France qui participent à un programme spécial à l’Université du Québec en Outaouais. 

À 17 h, témoignez l’émission The Guest List avec Joe Reilly, qui présente des entrevues avec des musiciens en spectacle dans la région de la capitale nationale. Joe discutera aussi de la programmation de danse et de l’orchestre du CNA, et jasera avec des auteurs-compositeurs locaux. Slo’ Tom se joindra à Joe pour cette production exceptionnelle.

CKCU Special Funding Drive Broadcast Live On Location: Communautés croisées + The Guest List

Live from the National Arts Centre’s Atrium O’Brien, 1 Elgin Street on Thursday, November 7th from 4-6pm!

At 4pm, check out Communautés croisées hosted by Patrick Auguste, focusing on social and cultural issues in the Francophone community of Ottawa-Gatineau. Patrick will be talking about French Theatre at the NAC and with students from France attending a special program at Universite du Quebec en Outaouais.

At 5pm, get on The Guest List with host Joe Reilly, featuring interviews with musicians making appearances in the capital region. Joe will be talking about the NAC Dance season, the NAC Orchestra and with local singer-songwriters. Slo’ Tom will join Joe for this special production.

Fundraiser for CKCU: Local Bunches Of Laughs!

Bunch up together at nighttime cafe Night Oat, 750 Gladstone Avenue, on Wednesday, November 6 for a bunch of local laughs in support of the 2024 CKCU 93.1 FM Funding Drive!

Featuring Emmett Morrison and hosted by Tavis Maplesden

With a spoonful of sets from Bobby Knauff, Owen McGowan, Scott Yarwood, Nancy Mae, Duncan MacQuarrie and Melanie Paige.

Doors at 7pm, $10/Pay What You Can
