Canadian Spaces live from the Black Irish Pub January 6th

Canadian Spaces will be broadcast live  from the Black Irish Pub on Saturday, January 6 from 10:00 am to noon. CKCU is proud to partner with the Black Irish Pub in broadcasting Canadian Spaces “live on location” from the pub several times per year.  These events bring together CKCU hosts, listeners, musicians, fans, photographers, journalists and music industry professionals in a comfortable, entertaining environment where they can experience first-hand the performances, interviews and camaraderie that are part of the Canadian Spaces tradition. Musical guests on January 6 will include Greg Kelly who organizes and hosts the “Tunes After Noon” concert series and “open mic” session at the Black Irish each Saturday afternoon.  Come on down and help Greg celebrate his birthday!

The Black Irish Pub is located at 15 Selkirk Street in Vanier (near River Road and Montreal Road, in the Eastview Mall).  There is plenty of free parking.  Website: www.theblackirishpub.com.  Phone: 613-747-0517.  The pub has a variety of  “hot and cold brown drinks” available, as well as excellent food, thanks to pub owner Derek Marcotte‘s qualifications as a gourmet chef!

Canadian Spaces is Canada’s longest-running folk radio program.  Founded by Chopper McKinnon in 1980, the show has been produced and hosted since March 2013 by Chris White with help from more than 80 co-hosts!  Past broadcasts and playlists are archived at https://cod.ckcufm.com/programs/129/info.html
