We will be broadcasting live from CityFolk this year to celebrate 25 years of Folkfest — There will be an elaborate installation in the Aberdeen Pavilion throughout the festival featuring photos, videos, artifacts etc. from the past 25 years. Canadian Spaces host Chris White will also have a “Chopper McKinnon selfie station” set up. Former Ottawa XPress editor Allan Wigney will be co-hosting Canadian Spaces with Chris, and there will be a number of musical and non-musical guests dropping by throughout the show, with interviews interspersed with live performances.
The “Innovation Pod” (pictured here) that we’ll be broadcasting from was built at a very cool prototyping facility at Bayview Yards by a company called called PrototypeD. The Pod is parked behind the Aberdeen Pavilion for the next two months. Apt-613 and the Ottawa Music Industry Coalition (OMIC) are also teaming up to use it for podcasts and other activities during CityFolk and at various other times over the next two months.
So tune in or drop by and check out the hi-jinx this Saturday (Sept. 15th) starting at 10AM.
